Subject: Petition for Removal of Unauthorized Advertisements and Hoardings
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to seek your support and assistance in signing a crucial petition that aims to preserve the environmental sanctity of our beautiful country.
The petition, fully supported by concerned citizens, advocates for the removal of unauthorized and unsightly posters, advertisement boards, hoardings, cutouts, buntings, hangings, and billboards from public parks, road medians, and areas below flyovers. These intrusive displays not only mar the natural beauty of our surroundings but also pose a significant threat to environmental sustainability.
As you may be aware, these campaign materials are often made from non-biodegradable plastic materials such as flex sheets, banners, and buntings. This results in irreparable harm to the environment, leaving behind a trail of non-degradable waste that further exacerbates our ecological challenges.
Moreover, the absence of penalties and measures to recover cleaning expenses emboldens organizations, associations, political parties, and individuals to continue littering public spaces without any accountability. This negligence poses a direct threat to the well-being of our environment and hampers the right to life and a clean environment, as enshrined in Article 21 of the Constitution of India.
In light of these pressing concerns, the petition also seeks to hold political parties, individuals, and companies responsible for the costs incurred during the removal of these unauthorized displays. Additionally, it urges state governments to take decisive action in eliminating illegal hoardings, posters, buntings, and hangings.
As a responsible and environmentally conscious citizen, your support in signing this petition will contribute significantly to creating a cleaner and greener future for all. We believe that collective action is crucial in bringing about positive change, and that's why this petition will be filed in the Supreme Court of India, Delhi, with the backing of the esteemed We Grow Forest Foundation, a registered NGO dedicated to environmental and sustainability practices under Niti Aayog.
Join us in making a profound impact on environmental sustainability by signing the petition and standing in solidarity with We Grow Forest Foundation. Together, we can work towards the protection and preservation of our precious environment for generations to come.
