West Fraser Timber (the company that purchased Spray Lakes Sawmills) has now released the detailed maps of their planned harvest of the Moose Mountain and West Bragg Creek Trail Systems.

These jewels in the crown of Alberta recreation that have been built up (primarily) over the past 15 years through community and government investment of money and labor are going to be substantially affected by this harvest.

West Fraser is proceeding based on blanket policies created long before these trail systems existed, during a time of significantly less utilization.

We feel that anyone who looks clear-eyed at the situation will see that logging this specific area is detrimental to the people of Alberta.

No meger stumpage fees are close to the value that these trails hold for physical, mental and social wellbeing to the people of Alberta.

Only West Fraser Timber benefit, all Albertans are negatively affected.

Visit GROWKANANASKIS.COM learn more about the situation and write an email (addresses provided) to your MLA and all the interested parties.  We need to be heard by government and volume of emails speaks loudest.
