Petition Update – Clachan Bridge

I want to share an important update with everyone who has supported this petition.

I have now reviewed publicly available collision data for Clachan Bridge covering the last 26 years. I was helpfully directed to this by Police Scotland.

The data, sourced from CrashMap using official police collision records, shows:

• 3 recorded incidents

• all categorised as slight

• no serious incidents

• no fatalities

This is the same underlying dataset used to inform road safety analysis.

I fully recognise that collision data is not the only factor in assessing risk. However, where significant changes are proposed on safety grounds, it is reasonable to expect that the evidence supporting that position is clear, proportionate, and open to scrutiny.

That is why I will continue to press for transparency around the basis for the current proposals.

Thank you to everyone who has signed and supported this campaign. Your voices should be heard, and I will continue to represent the concerns being raised.

Please continue to share the petition and help keep this issue in the spotlight.
