Update: As you may have already heard, the permit was granted. It’s a gut punch — and it happened fast, with an opaque, rushed process that cut the public out. But please don’t despair. We expected this outcome, and we’re already shifting into the next phase of accountability. We have been busy and we will have a lot more to share very soon. 

What we need from you RIGHT NOW (tomorrow or Thursday):

VERY IMPORTANT: Make your voice heard at the Fish & Game Commission Meeting Tomorrow or Thursday (public comment)

The Commission isn’t the decision-maker on this permit — but it sets statewide wildlife policy, and deer are a public wildlife resource. Please speak up about the fast-tracked approval, the end-run around meaningful environmental review, and the bad/unsupported science — especially in the face of overwhelming public opposition.

Option A — Wednesday, Feb 11 (meeting starts 1:00 PM):
General public comment = Agenda Item 4 (early in the meeting).

Option B — Thursday, Feb 12 (meeting starts 8:30 AM):
General public comment = Agenda Item 26 (near the end of the agenda).

If you’re a hunter / support hunting as a management tool: please also comment on the termination of the hunting program on the island.
