Coalition to Save Catalina Island DeerAvalon, CA, United States
Oct 13, 2023

Friends,

We are absolutely overwhelmed by your support! Thank you for joining our efforts to STOP THE CATALINA ISLAND CONSERVANCY’S EXTREMISM – its inhumane, and unnecessarily radical and unbalanced plan to eliminate ALL the Catalina mule deer from the Catalina Island experience. We are so grateful for all of your powerful and heartfelt messages and for your willingness to help. There have been so many developments this week and we wanted to make sure you knew about three of them right away so you can take ACTION:

1. IMPORTANT: AVALON CITY COUNCIL MEETING

Despite specific and clear direction from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Conservancy tried to execute its plan to eradicate without ever truly engaging the very community it serves. Our pressure is changing that. The Conservancy has been asked to make a presentation to the Avalon City Council on Tuesday, October 17 at 5:00 pm. YOU CAN HELP:

> ACTION REQUESTED - Friends, we really need your support at this extremely important meeting! See how you can help — even if you don’t live in Avalon, HERE

2. DISTURBING INFORMATION ABOUT WHITE BUFFALO, INC.

This week we unveiled the truth about WHITE BUFFALO, INC, the company the Conservancy aims to have do its bidding. This company markets itself as a nonprofit champion of conservation and restoration that's “spent the last two decades committed to improving both technology and techniques to maximize safety, humaneness, and efficiency for the management of ungulates.” WE ARE APPALLED AT THE TRUTH. SEE FOR YOURSELF!

> INFORM YOURSELF (if you can bear it) - WARNING - These videos show abuse to animals. Take care while watching. See White Buffalo’s TRUE tactics for yourself HERE and HERE.

3. SUPPORT FROM THE CALIFORNIA RIFLE AND PISTOL ASSOCIATION

Some of the strongest voices in our Coalition are hunters. Rick Travis, the Legislative Director of the CRPA, makes some very compelling arguments.

> INFORM YOURSELF HERE.

That's it for now. We'll have additional updates soon. Thank you for standing with us, and TAKING ACTION NOW at this critical juncture!
