Hello folks,

We hope you've had a great summer - it is hard to believe that it is already nearing September.

We wanted to take a moment and touch base with you all about the PST Expansion update announced by the provincial government earlier this week...

One of the most important aspects of the Arts is that participating in arts and cultural activities improve quality of life. The arts strengthen communities by helping people feel involved, creating a sense of belonging, and enabling intercultural understanding and friendship.

The Saskatchewan Arts Alliance (SAA) advocates for many issues relating to the arts in Saskatchewan. One very important, timely issue is the incoming PST expansion to admissions, entertainment, and recreation effective October 1, 2022. You can read more about it here. You can also find the Government’s latest update (August, 23, 2022) about the PST Expansion here

The SAA is concerned that the proposed PST expansion will affect the accessibility and affordability of arts and cultural activities in our province.

Will the PST expansion affect your ability to attend arts and cultural activities either individually or as a family? Whether you answer yes or no to that question, we want to hear from you! Please take a minute to answer our short survey online here. Your opinion matters and your participation makes our research and advocacy stronger.

Please share this survey with your friends, family, and anyone else you think may be interested in having a say!

Please complete the survey as soon as possible and no later than September 6th, 2022.
