This is what is happening in all of our shelters in RIVCO including our local shelter. We must stand up to all of this. The people in charge of our city and AC are not taking seriously what is happening to the dogs. I have been trying to get some changes with Menifee and AC to ensure that there is transparency for over a year now.. everyone is ignoring what is happening and no responses. The people in charge are ignoring what is happening. RIVCO shelters have an incredible amount of euthanization. Is this what we want? Stop supporting shelters blindly. There is a reason why AFV cannot keep volunteers working when they deal with dogs directly. Support local valid rescue organizations (make sure you have vetted them first). Volunteer with them, foster for them, so they can remove more dogs from shelters and treat them right. Some shelters have nice facilities but it does not mean they don't euthanize because of animals that are sick, injured or "too shy" .. yes that's right.
