Good & Bad News . . . SO proud of you all and my helpers for exceeding our target by 10am today!

Good evening

THE  GOOD NEWS:    At 10am today- the deadline being the day of the Council Meeting,  we achieved our target, that I asked you all to pull all stops for:  7,500 signatures.   Well done us! -  I was so proud of you and my helpers- such a huge achievement- 1,500 signatures in 7 days!

In face currently, we have  7740 signatures.  FAB!  Heading towards 10,000.

THE BAD NEWS:   One of the Public Input presenters in our favour,  was declined the chance to present at the Meeting.

Then, Auckland Council  delayed the decision on the future of the Downtown Carpark.  It was pulled from the Agenda, late yesterday.

 We see that as a positive step, as this means that more than half of the councillors support keeping the carpark.   ;-))  We have made a real difference.

We need to continue to increase the numbers of signatures to show how strategic this location is to ALL ratepayers.  Otherwise, they will say 'that is only a small % of our votes at election time'. . . . .  BUT, if only ALL Aucklanders knew about this!  So please keep spreading the word. Most people are shocked.

The next meeting where this may be decided is 26 October 2023 - and both the Public Input presenters in our favour WILL be presenting then, if it is on the Agenda.

This has been a real Roller Coaster ride so far. . . . .

It's like a game of chess . . . . 

Our next moves:     PLEASE CAN YOU KEEP SHARING THE PETITION WITH FRIENDS/FAMILY/WORKMATES & SOCIAL MEDIA.  (Please see my last Update for HOW you can do this best.)

Please also speak with your local councillor to increase the support.
