Hi all

Well done to see over 4000 this week!  That is really significant.  Media will soon be interested, if we can get to 5000.  Please share with everyone you can think of-  social media, gmail contacts, friends, family.

We had the Auckland Council Transport and Infrastructure Committee Mtg last week.

Disappointingly, I was not able to present my Petition, due to a 'Standing Order', saying that  the Senior Staff working on selling the Downtown Carpark think they are too far down the track. '-(

However, inside knowledge tells us that it is not too late- tenders are still being submitted from developers, etc.

The People's Voice could still win,  if we carry on  sharing, sharing.  Public Opinion has swayed these sorts of issues in the past.

The meeting had a very good outcome for us:

See the  Utube video below:

- had some interesting Public Input

-Liam Venter’s summation on Auckland Transport Future Plan for Auckland (Light Rail not the best option) starts at 34.20 min

-He suggests that the best location of a Transport Hub is the Downtown Carpark Building!!!

and that to sell it to a developer is short sighted.

Also see: 41.39- A question was asked by Mr Walker - "Could the question of the Sale of Downtown Carpark, being the ideal HUB for Auckland transport systems,  be refered to Chief Executive for investigation, and to AT's own Transport Strategy people?"   -  and was voted FOR unanimously!

Is it too late in the sale’s process? It’s never too late until the cheque is in the bank!

The petition of over 4000 signatures helps prove the #RegionalSignificance

that is why Auckland Transport argued against the sale under the previous Goff lead Council.

Please keep sharing, to get to 5000, so media can help us lift numbers even higher, before it is too late.

Thanks so much

Shery
