Sannich Planning report is in.

Sannich planning has posted their report to council on the Saanich website.
Their recommendation is to forward the application to the ALC with a 'recommendation for rejection'.
They could have recommended that the application not be forwarded to the ALC and therefore would not proceed any further. The applicants have not provided any of the required documents, except the soil report (a double standard for developers, perhaps; not expecting them to provide documents that any normal resident would be required to submit). Nor have the applicants had the proper signage displayed for well over a year. Another failing on their behalf.
I should think a resounding NO from planning should have been the most logical recommendation, but it seems eaier to pass the buck.
Plannings recommendation to council does not necessarily mean this is what council will decide. It is only a recommendation, the final say is up to our council members and considering recent votes on applications (we seem to have 7 members voting more in favour of development to 2 council votes more interested in preserving the enviroment).
We must attend the Oct. 28th Committee of Whole meeting to voice our objections.

Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got til its gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
