The application for the re-zoning of this property is still sitting in limbo at Saanich council offices, as do all awaiting some resolution. In the meantime we still have the chance to add more voices/signatures to our petition. We still firmly believe -

Rapid consumption of land is threatening the survival of nearly one out of every three imperiled species...Runaway development threatens the very survival of these national treasures and underscores the urgency for comprehensive habitat protection strategies and planning for green infrastructure.The expanding footprint of development will put additional pressure on diminishing wildlife resources and their habitats, and has the potential to drive more plants and animals towards extinction. If we are to protect its current array of plant and animal species for future generations, nations must plan carefully to guide development so that it leaves lifesustaining green infrastructure intact.
