Did you know we have at least 1 colony of bats living within the area of the old golf course?
Just heard th5at the BC Bat Program was granted 3 years of secure federal match funding to help pay for more bat boxes, white-nose and genetic testing, and reaching out to the greater community - YAY! Volunteer hours made that grant a success.
The Big Bat Bash event is on Sunday October 28 in the Metchosin Community Hall. The full event runs from 2pm to 8pm, but the volunteer thank you will happen during the Bat Volunteer Presentation at 3:00-4:00pm.
Admission to the event is free and open to the public, so please feel welcome to bring friends and family! It is an art installation, bat celebration, crafts, demos of bat boxes and detectors, prizes, and coffee/tea and treats.
