It really is important that more people in Liverpool are aware of the changes to the Voting situation in Liverpool.
Last week the Mayor of Liverpool was granted $50,000 to fund Legal Expenses.
Here is something that Residents and Ratepayers should note and a couple of questions that you might want to consider.
THREE (3) MINUTES is how long it took for the Councillors of Liverpool to decide that the Mayor of Liverpool be granted $50,000 to fund his legal expenses.
From 5.09 pm until 5.12pm according to the Council meeting minutes.
Does anyone else think that this might have been decided on even before it went to the Council meeting?
And is there a record of who voted for and against the motion to grant the Mayor of Liverpool a $50,000 legal action fighting fund?
Was it unanimous or did some of the Councillors vote against the motion?
WHY is the Mayor of Liverpool putting his hand in ratepayers pockets to fund his legal expenses?
He has stated publicly that he is paying for his own legal expenses in the Australian newspaper article in February to obtain justice for an alleged claim of Defamation.
Now at the Council Meeting held on Wednesday the 27th March he has been granted a $50K legal fighting fund to pay for his legal expenses
Minutes of the meeting disclose that these funds were granted to "Reimburse the Mayor on a Solicitor Client basis in relation to the claim".
THE QUESTIONS THAT COME TO MY MIND ARE
What was/ is the legal action being taken against the Mayor of Liverpool that needs $50,000 ?
WHY do Ratepayers have to pay for the Legal Expenses incurred by the Mayor of Liverpool for his alleged indiscretions?
