Apparently the government asked Channel 4 to delete parts of their annual report 'at odds' with privatisation - including references to their 'long term sustainability.'

It obviously didn't square with the government's justification of the sell-off to have Channel 4's highly successful model broadcast that way.

I don't see much evidence of the government being so great at thinking through sustainability and the economy.  Mainly their policies appear to be short sighted and to generate mayhem.
