Beautify what we already have. We are NOT Downers Grove and we don't want to be. No Plaza. Not Safe.

The Tribune reports: "I was recently riding my bike through Downers Grove and looking at the $3 million-plus work they are doing in their downtown to create multiple gathering spaces and move dining off the street. This is not just a trend; it is essential that we invest for future generations," says Eric Tech, Village President. Why isn't Hinsdale doing this? Why isn't Lagrange doing this? We aren't Downers Grove and we don't want to be. Our tiny Village is being neglected while he continues to focus on what residents and businesses have rejected over and over and over- an unsafe, unnecessary plaza/gathering space that jeopardizes resident's lives and business' livelihoods by closing a critical road so close to our only and very busy train crossing in our tiny one-block business district. He still doesn't get it. Just STOP. And move on, please. Newsflash: downers Grove has an 800-spot parking garage, so pouring cement over a few street spots for $3M doesn't matter there, but it ABSOLUTELY matters here in CH and we don't want to dine in concrete bus stops. If we do, we will go to Downers Grove for dinner. So PLEASE redirect the $$$ to beautify what we already have in Clarendon Hills for future generations. There are plenty of items that need updates (pictured above). Beautify what we have and keep the roads, parking spots and crosswalks OPEN for business in our single-block downtown.
