Traffic Engineers never recommended this Crosswalk, but our Village leadership installed it anyway. Confusion and Dangerous conditions now exist with the unauthorized crosswalk between CH Starbucks and the Triangle Median.

Never before have CH pedestrians been sent via crosswalk directly to the traffic triangle. This was NEVER recommended by the CBBEL Traffic Engineer. It was only suggested IF and WHEN the Right-turn-escape-slip-lane was closed for its replacement cement Plaza, which this Petition is working to STOP. 

WHY would Village leadership purposely INSTALL this new HAZARD for residents? This crosswalk causes more needless crossings of the traffic lanes than were ever allowed in the past. This crosswalk also causes motorists to have to cross over THREE crosswalks going East and West on Park Avenue. Before, it was two, spaced safely apart from one another. Study the visual above.

Write to your Village trustees. Ask them why this pre-emptive crosswalk has been installed when a Plaza is NOT even APPROVED yet and never should be!
