I was looking through the « NOAA Weather Radio and Weatheradio Canada » Facebook group and I saw a repost that has gotten my attention. 
Shae in the « BC Ham Radio » FB group has received a response by his local MP. 

He (Shae) has stated in his post:

« *EDIT* I am following up with the conversation to get the process started for a petition, and inquired he has the ability to see if one already exists. 

In regards to Weather Radio. I sent a email to my local MP and received this response. Do we know if anyone has started a House of Commons Petition as suggested in this email? 

If not, this may be a good path forward to getting this issue into the open. »

So as you can see, the shutdown might actually be cancelled if the House of Commons starts up Shae Skerry’s official House Of Commons Petition.  #savewrc!

I hope that this will change Environment Canada’s mind about the shutdown.
