We wanted to quickly let you know that Compassion in Politics is one of nearly 300 organisations that have signed a joint statement marking the 75th anniversary of the European Convention on Human Rights.

The statement highlights the importance of the Human Rights Act and the ECHR in protecting people’s basic freedoms and holding public bodies to account. It also highlights how recent political attacks on human rights overlook the values of fairness, dignity and justice that Britain has long stood for.
