The chaotic debates we saw over the Gaza debates must never be repeated. Actually, the kind of activity we see in Parliament most days must never be seen again. The system is outdated and doesn’t reflect the kind of Parliament that citizens need and demand. 

That is why we are calling for an Ethics Commission. Lax regulation, antiquated procedures, and hierarchical systems have created a "breeding ground" for unethical conduct.

We’ve managed to get the Labour Party to endorse this proposal, with thanks to Debbie Abrahams, Co-Chair of our All-Party Group for Compassionate Politics. But we urgently need to engage the public in fashioning a political system worthy of representing their needs, interests, and concerns. We need that Commission to immediately go out into the country, into our communities and work with the public to identify how they want our politics to serve them. 

The campaign is far from over. We need this government to commit and enact an Ethics Commission. We need the opposition to be promising to deliver it too.
