We do apologise for posting again on this subject.

With many expressing concerns over losing homes, rent increases and the UHCC use of rates payers money etc. With over 1000 signed in 12 days we feel we need to keep sharing. OUR COMMUNITY MATTERS.
The council needs to step up and be more transparent and honest.

The misleading information being supplied by the council in the “Making Tough Decisions” is simply,

U N A C C E P T A B L E …

At the Let's kōrero at the Cossie Club on Tuesday night there was some very robust discussion on the LTP and the Consultation Document.

Some of the highlights from the meeting are:

DID YOU KNOW EACH VISIT TO A WATER LEAK/TOBY LEAK COSTS AROUND $2200. This may not even to fix it, and require more visits.

Making Tough Decisions Together – Consultation Document

  • The document is full of inaccuracies, omissions and misleading information in our opinion.
  • The “Proposed Infrastructure Projects”, pg. 36/37, are mostly committed too by the council already (See attached picture, we have added what is committed in red)
  • The council is bracing for a potential court case from the prison due to their rise in rates.
  • Books don’t add up. E.g. Activation savings of $249,342 or 3.7m over 10 years. The UHCC books make it $188k saving, not the $249k. The mayor was confused also when shown.
