Dear Friends,
For years now, Parkdale has fought KingSett Capital’s plan to demolish rental housing at King & Cowan and replace it with a luxury condo. City Council originally rejected the proposal, but KingSett appealed to the Ontario Land Tribunal—who ignored our concerns and sided with the developer.
Now, on Thursday September 18, the Toronto and East York Community Council meets to grant the final approval KingSett needs. This is our last chance to make ourselves heard. We refuse to sit quietly while City Hall rubber-stamps displacement.
Meet outside City Hall at 9:00am
Agenda item comes up at 10:00am
After one of our members deputes, we will disrupt business as usual inside with noise! Because if they won’t listen, we’ll make them. Please bring (if you have) small musical instruments like kazoos, harmonicas, recorders, or toy drums, anything compact that can pass security but LOUD enough to be heard.
Together we’ll send a clear message: We’re not going away.
