Hi folks,
A quick update about the Black-headed gull licences, the ones that permit the harvesting of eggs for human consumption. Please read my blog post HERE, your comments are very welcome as always.
Natural England have confirmed that just two licences remain in place this year, and that no licences at all have been issued in Hampshire - which raises questions over recently advertised gull eggs, apparently sourced from Lymington Marshes - with this in mind, I'm asking everyone to keep their eyes peeled for potentially illegal eggs on sale.
I think there's reason to hope that we might finally see the end of the nasty trade in gull eggs that is fuelled by well-heeled 'foodies'. Dining on the eggs of protected wild birds has no place in an enlightened society.
The campaign continues. Thank you, sincerely, for your continued support and encouragement.
Best,
Jase
