Lovely healthy adoptable dogs, plus others that aren’t posted, plus cats, plus unborn puppies in tow momma dogs were slaughtered under @ron_nirenberg as mayor and @cosagov San Antonio City Government and Shannon Sims as shelter director. They made a decision in October to kill over 3000 San Antonio adoptable pets as a ‘reasonable fiscal target’. They need to see this is inherently inhumane and cruel as a solution to overbreeding, irresponsible owners and the shelter needs of a growing city.
