Hi everyone

Today I have been in contact with Betty Stuart who's husband Daniel was killed on the Bruce Highway Maryborough on 25 March 2024.  She has been lobbying to have upgrades made to the Bruce Highway.  Today the PM announced $7.2B has been allocated for upgrades to Bruce Highway.  As we all know the Bruce highway is one of the longest strengths of highway in Australia covering most of Queensland.  43 People lost their life on this Highway last year.  Betty and I have banned together to get Queensland Government to come on board with South Australia regarding the issuing of truck licences using my petition and she will be lobbying for the Bruce Highway upgrade to go ahead as soon as possible.  I have been in contact with Peter Dutton's office today to set up an appointment in March at his Brisbane office so I can present him with the petition with the expectation legislation can become Nationally.  

I would like to thank the South Australia Government for taking the petition on board and making the changes to legislation and SARTA for their support in particular Steve Shearer. 

On another note, thank you to Cathy and Simon from TML, Nev has been accepted into the White Hill Truck Drivers Memorial at Murray Bridge.  The ceremony will be on 1 March at 10.30am where all lost drivers' plaques will be unveiled followed by a convoy of trucks coming down the hill.  I would like to sincerely thank Cathy and Simon for putting Nev's name forward.  Nev would be so proud to think he has been recognised.
