Something powerful is happening across Maryland and across the country.

Yesterday, at “No Kings” rallies across the country, millions of people came together to rally against important issues caused by President Trump’s authoritarian administration. One such issue many rallied around yesterday is that our communities should not be used to profit from detention, deportation, and suffering.

And now, that energy is turning into action.

At every No Kings rally in Maryland, attendees were urged to take the next step - to sign our petition demanding that job platforms - such as Indeed, Glassdoor, Linkedin, and ZipRecruiter - stop enabling and profiting from ICE expansion.

As you are aware, on March 7th, we discovered that Indeed was advertising job openings at the 825,000 square foot, Washington County industrial warehouse being converted into an ICE detention center. This led to us launching a petition demanding that these job sites stop profiting from promoting these job listings at the Washington County, MD ICE facility and all others across the county. These job sites are actively helping staff a system that our communities are rising up to reject and yesterday the Indeed job ads started appearing again for the Hagerstown ICE facility.

Hagerstown Showed Up  In a Big Way
Yesterday, the Hagerstown “No Kings” rally sent a message that cannot be ignored.

More than 3,000 people showed up. For a community our size, that is massive. It is historic. It is undeniable.

Members of Hagerstown Rapid Response and Washington County Indivisible were there on the ground meeting neighbors, hearing stories, and feeling the momentum building in real time.

People weren’t just showing up to protest. They were asking what they could do next.
