Highway 89 is more than just a road. It's home to families, local businesses, and churches, and is one of the  gateways into Mount Airy. The proposed widening project would permanently change this corridor, affecting homes, people, businesses, property owners, and the character of our community.  

We believe ALL reasonable alternatives should be thoroughly explored before any decision is made to move this project forward. Our community deserves to know that all options have been considered, not just the one currently being proposed.
