Join us at the Rally For The Florida Black Bears and connect with other wildlife advocates, respected community leaders, and guest speakers in opposing the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission’s (FWC) proposed bear trophy hunt, a proposal that lacks scientific justification and is in direct conflict with principles of responsible wildlife management. We must act now to prevent history from repeating itself.
The location of this rally, Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando, is deeply symbolic. In 2015, after the FWC’s black bear hunt took the lives of 304 bears, people from all walks of life gathered here to grieve, honor the fallen, and demand change. This time, we gather before the FWC decides on whether or not to have a hunt.
When: Sunday, May 4th, from 12PM - 2 PM
Where: Lake Eola Park (Northeast Lawn), Downtown Orlando
Together, we can stop the hunt and protect Florida’s black bears!
