Good day all,

Firstly, a big thank you to everyone who has signed the petition so far and taken the time to leave your comments. Your support is greatly appreciated.

I received feedback yesterday from Councillor Berry in the form of a letter from the Health Department in Durbanville. Here are the key points:

Initial Inspection: The Health Department conducted an investigation on 17 January 2025 and found that the fly situation was out of control. The person in charge of the property was given an opportunity to address the problem.
Follow-Up Inspection: A follow-up inspection was conducted yesterday to serve a formal notice. Upon their arrival, the inspectors found the fly problem under control, and the stables were clean. Additionally, they were informed that the owners plan to install more fly traps.
Ongoing Monitoring: The department has assured us that they will frequently monitor the premises to ensure the situation remains under control.
I would like to request that residents in the immediate vicinity monitor the situation over the next week. I noticed staff splashing what appeared to be Agita paint or a similar fly control solution on the rocks and surrounding areas.

We must stay vigilant. Let’s not lose momentum, as we cannot continue living with the recurring pest invasion that we’ve endured for years.

Thank you again for your continued support.

Kind regards,
No-Fly Zone
Durbanville
