Thank you again for supporting this petition. More than 2,160 people have signed to express their concerns and ask important questions about this proposal.
Since this petition was launched, the project has changed. Ryan Companies is no longer involved, and a new development partner has signed a letter of intent. Because ECPA isn’t naming the replacement developer, we have updated the petition title and references to simply describe the proposed ECPA apartment development. The concerns raised by this petition remain the same.
According to a recent news article, ECPA expects to present a revised concept to the City later this summer. The proposal continues to include a 185-unit apartment building incorporating the performing arts center.
This petition has always been about more than one developer. It’s the proposed First Street location, the scale of the project, financial questions, and the public process surrounding it. Those questions remain, regardless of who the development partner may be.
As new information becomes available, this is another opportunity to stay informed, ask questions, and participate in the public process.
We encourage you to follow upcoming announcements, attend community meetings if you’re able, and continue to SHARE the petition with others who care about the future of First Street and downtown Elmhurst.
