This message is incredibly important. South Korea has a history of ignoring serious issues until public outcries occur. In this case, the public outcry would occur if Hyein came out saying she was abused (s*xually, physically, or mentally) because of her age or committed s*icide due to idol-related stress and trauma. Mental Health already isn't taken seriously, even with so many celebrities committing s*icide due to the toxic culture that surrounds idols and even regular citizens that reside in South Korea.

"Safety regulations are written in blood". This saying is prominent in South Korean culture (In fact, in worldwide culture). Is it until a minor dies or exposes the toxic culture of K-pop as a whole until we stand to defend them? I will not stand by, knowing that I: A person who-along with so many others-fuelled the K-pop explosion worldwide, helped cause idols a lifelong amount of trauma knowing that I didn't speak up to the exploitation that idols have to deal with on a daily basis, and the exploitation that is heightened even further if you enter the celebrity world as a minor.

This culture isn't just rampant in South Korea, it's rampant in multiple nations. Japan has "Chidol" culture (Idols who debut at 15 or younger) solely to fulfill the fetishes of older men. America had so many idols come out that they were abused when they were young and in the idol industry (Ariana Grande for example). Even "stricter" countries like China have had reoccurring issues of child s*xual abuse.

tl;dr: Unless public outrage occurs, public opinion won't change. Let's be the outrage that will help save these girls from the future trauma that adult idols have already had to experience within the industry.
