NOTICE OF PETITION PRESENTATION TO BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL - THURSDAY 14TH OCTOBER AT 5.30 PM, CIVIC OFFICES, LONDON RD., BASINGSTOKE, RG21 4AH.
SAVE OAKDOWN OAKS PETITION
The petition with over 102,000 signatures, including 4,000 from the Borough of Basingstoke, will be handed over to our 2 ward councillors – Diane Taylor and Hannah Golding at 5.30 pm. It is expected that the press and many local action groups will be at the Civic Offices, London Road, Basingstoke, RG21 4AH. to witness this. We urge all who care about the trees and the environment to come along. It will be a great opportunity to demonstrate how strongly you feel about the possible destruction of the mature, grade A and B, 67 oak and 3 beech trees.
Bring along banners, rattles or whatever, to make sure all the 50 councillors attending the Council meeting at 6.30 pm hear your voices.
The petition is an agenda item at the full Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council meeting which starts at 6.30 pm. As the petitioner, I will have 5 mins to talk about it and to urge councillors to protect the environment on the west of Basingstoke by saving the trees.
