Fenton man Graham Cope examines the suspended large format print of Fenton’s memorial to the Great War outside Lockett’s oatcake shop on Christchurch Street, Fenton. He points out his two great uncles, brothers in arms, who lost their lives at Loos in 1915. The impressive memorial, which is embedded in a wall of the nearby former town hall (not listed and up for sale) isn’t open to public viewing and is at risk of desecration.
