To everyone who has signed our petition to stop Samoeuth's deportation,
First and foremost, thank you. Your signature is a powerful act of solidarity, and we are deeply grateful for your support. We are writing with an important update on Samoeuth's case and two direct ways you can help us move from words to action.
The Legal Update:
The past days have been a whirlwind for Samoeuth's family.Khmery, Laura, and Jamie have been frantically following every lead and referral for an attorney. It’s been exhausting and nerve-wracking, but they have made progress. They are on the verge of securing legal representation. By noon tomorrow, they will finalize an attorney who can represent Samoeuth at her upcoming bond hearing and her master hearing.
Their strategy is taking shape:
1. Bond Hearing: They have decided to proceed with a bond hearing to fight for her release from detention so she can be home with her family while her case is pending.
2. Master Hearing (Dec. 31st): The new attorney will ask the court for a reset (a postponement). This is crucial to give them time to properly build her case. While this means Samoeuth would remain detained for an additional two weeks, it is the necessary step to ensure they do not go into this complex fight unprepared.
How You Can Help Now:
While the family finalizes legal counsel, they need support in two direct and powerful ways:
1. SUPPORT THE LEGAL FIGHT – Donate to the GoFundMe
Your signatures show the judge public support. To turn that support into legal power, the family must fund a specialized immigration attorney. The cost is significant. If you are able, please consider making a donation to their official GoFundMe campaign. If you cannot donate, sharing the fundraiser is an incredibly helpful way to amplify their reach.

2. WRITE A LETTER OF SUPPORT – Your Personal Appeal (URGENT)
For the bond hearing, personal letters to the judge are immensely powerful. They help paint a picture of Samoeuth as a valued member of the community and underscore why she should be released to her family.
· Who can write? Anyone...whether you know her, know her family, or simply believe in keeping families together.
· What should it say? A brief, heartfelt note explaining who you are, your connection (if any), and why you believe she should be released on bond. Mention her role as a mother/grandmother and her ties to the community.
· How to submit: Please hand-sign your letter, take a clear photo or scan it, and email it to: jamie.guerin413@gmail.com
Securing a bond could change everything. It would allow her to be home with her children and grandchildren, and could extend her final hearing timeline from months to years, giving them the crucial time needed to win her case.
Thank you for lending your voice through the petition. Now, we ask you to consider lending your support to help fund and fortify this fight.
With profound gratitude,
Jamie, Samoeuth, Khmery, Laura, Eric, Khamoly, Somnang, Little Jordan, and baby Jesiah
