Petition updateSave Edgewood Village HistoryPlanning Commission Member Asks Developer To Donate Historic Homes!
Concerned Citizens for the preservation of Edgewood Village.
May 13, 2016
This week the Lower Makefield Planning Commission heard the comments of the public regarding a proposed development that threatens historic Edgewood Village. Many attendees spoke. Most were opposed to the plan. Concerns were expressed about storm water runoff, environmental hazards, lack of a traffic study, clear-cutting of trees, destruction of the village's historic qualities, etc. The Planning Commission's vote was deadlocked on whether to support or deny the project so, at least for the present time, the development was not given the Commission's approval to move forward. A member of the Planning Commission asked the developer, C.T. Troilo if he would consider donating the historic Ishmael and Carriage Crest (a.k.a. Danny Quill) houses so they could be preserved! Mr. Troilo responded that he would have to ask his father, property-owner Cameron Troilo for his opinion on the subject. The elder Mr. Troilo was not present at the meeting. More information about this issue will be provided as it becomes available. Please continue to SHARE the petition for preservation! Just 20 more signatures are needed to reach 1,000. Thank you for supporting the preservation of historic Edgewood Village!
