Concerned Citizens for the preservation of Edgewood Village.
May 5, 2016 — Update: The Planning Commission of Lower Makefield Township will meet this Monday night May 9th at 7:30 pm. On the agenda will be consideration to demolish both historic homes "at the point" in Edgewood Village. The developer who allowed the properties to fall into disrepair for years (Cameron Troilo/Makefield Glenn LLC) is expected to request permission to demolish these historically significant homes and destroy open space TO BUILD A PARKING LOT for a retail center, bringing more traffic & gridlock to already overburdened roads! The Tailor's House (also known as Ishmael's house, named after one of the first free men of color to reside in the township) was constructed in the late 1700's. The historic former home of decorated WWII veteran Danny Quill may also be bulldozed! We support the restoration of BOTH homes for a low-impact, more meaningful use (see website below) that compliments our Veteran's Square Monument and the adjacent Historic Woodside Chapel. PLEASE ATTEND THIS IMPORTANT MEETING. Location: Lower Makefield Township Building, 1100 Edgewood Road, Yardley, PA 19067. MONDAY May 9th at 7:30 pm.
