I introduced a motion which passed on March 18, 2025 to end all “by right” data center construction in Loudoun County. All data centers, except for 25 that were “grandfathered,” now must obtain Board of Supervisors approval. I support the motion to end “grandfathering” if it can be done legally and without the strong likelihood of losing a billion-dollar lawsuit.

Regarding power lines, the Board of Supervisors has no approval authority whatever over power line placement and construction. That is determined entirely by Dominion Energy and the State Corporation Commission.
