Tired of the BS in Bonnet Shores? You’re not alone.

425 of you signed a petition demanding our elected officials stop the corruption in the Fire District.

And what have they done?

Nothing.

Right now,  it’s up to us.

Government is supposed to serve the people—not corporations.

It’s supposed to regulate business—not hand it the keys to the neighborhood.

Yes, businesses pay taxes.

But they don’t vote.

And they certainly don’t get to run the government to enrich themselves.

Yet that’s exactly what’s happening here.

A private corporation—whose investors live all over the country—has launched a coordinated effort to seize control of our local community government. They’ve installed their allies in key roles and used those roles to steer:

Easements
No-bid contracts
Public grants
Free trash pickup
Access to community property

Right into their own hands.

And they’re not stopping.

Another illegal, unconstitutional election is scheduled for Saturday, August 2.

One of the largest corporate shareholders—Carol O’Donnell—is running for the Land Trust, where she has openly stated she wants to strip the organization of its 501(c)(3) protections, so she and other investors can do as they please.

Meanwhile, a corporate employee, James Hill—a bus driver who’s never attended a meeting or even a social event—is on the ballot for the Fire District Council. Ask yourself: Why?

Here’s how we stop them:
If you live in Bonnet Shores or have voting rights, show up and VOTE

Saturday, August 2

Bonnet Shores Community Center

Registration starts: 8:00 AM
Meeting begins: 10:00 AM

Vote for the candidates backed by residents, not corporate interests:

Fire District Council:  Melissa Jenkins

Land Trust:  Terence Beaty

Opinion Poll:

Option 1: Resident-Only Voting

Vote NO on all proposed bylaws amendments.

DO NOT vote for candidates marked with a star—"endorsed" candidates were chosen by the corporation, not the community.  Especially, do NOT vote for Shareholder Carol O'Donnell, who would love to get her greedy hands on the Land Trust.  Do NOT vote for Employee James Hill, who works for the private corporation.  He's never been to a single council or committee meeting, and is not an involved member of our community.

Resident candidates will be nominated from the floor. Support residents, not proxies. Neighbors will be on site to provide information about residents running from the floor.

Let’s be honest—we are outnumbered.

They’ve been pushing proxies and propaganda for weeks. Many "votes" are already in.

But if we all show up, we can still win.

This is our neighborhood. Let’s take it back.

Can we count on you?

Please show up at the Community Center on Saturday morning if eligible to vote.

Quick summary - Jenkins, Beaty, Residents Only Voting, No Bylaws Changes, Floor Votes for Resident Write In Candidates.  See you there!
