Update on 444 Project

DISCLAIMER: I am posting this update solely as an individual and private citizen. I am not speaking in my capacity as a Town Councilor, nor am I speaking on behalf of the Town of Franklin, the Franklin Town Council, or any other Town board, committee, official, or employee. The comments and information provided here represent only my own views and communications as a private citizen.

I wanted to provide an update on the project at 444 East Central Street.

There are currently two separate appeal tracks:

1. DEP (Department of Environmental Protection) Appeal

The team appealing the approval of the project met with the DEP on site in April of this year. During that meeting, the team presented three primary arguments as to why we believe the project should not have been approved in its current form.

We are currently awaiting a decision from the DEP.

2. Land Court Appeal

In the Land Court case, the developer filed a motion to dismiss the case. Arguments on that motion were heard on June 23.

We are currently awaiting the judge’s ruling on the motion.
