STOP the closed door ABOR / San Antonio (SABOR) Merger, and Allow a Membership Vote!

It is our belief that the ABOR board of directors is attempting to force CSS on ABOR membership in order to facilitate a merger with SABOR.

Recently, the Austin Board of REALTORS attempted to make CSS mandatory. The decision was attempted behind closed doors & without the membership's knowledge.

Cord Shiflet & Brian Talley (board members of ABOR at the time) made this information public to the members it affects. CSS is wildly unpopular, and as a result of their very commendable actions, ABOR was unable to force CSS down the throats of ABOR members.

As a result of Cord & Brian's commendable actions, the ABOR Board of Directors forcibly removed Cord & Brian from their roles as board members. This was, again, done without the knowledge or support of ABOR membership.

The San Antonio Board of REALTORS (SABOR) has broadly adopted CSS. In order for ABOR to merge w/ SABOR, ABOR would also have to adopt CSS. It is our belief that the ABOR board of directors is attempting to force CSS on ABOR membership in order to facilitate a merger with SABOR. Austin and San Antonio are two uniquely great markets with different needs & each market deserves the ability to vote on any potential merger.

We roundly reject the methods that the ABOR board of directors has used to make decisions related to CSS & membership. WE ROUNDLY REJECT ANY MERGER WITH THE SAN ANTONIO BOARD OF REALTORS WITHOUT A VOTE BY ALL ABOR MEMBERS!
