The city of Sacramento doesn’t do much about crime in their park near our neighborhood. This is why we don’t want them in charge of Del Paso Regional Park here in our community anymore- and want the County of Sacramento to take control and ownership of the park. We want the city’s District 2 peninsula east of Watt avenue disincorporated.
Our Land Park neighbors, unfortunately are stuck with the city’s leadership. They are feeling the effects of the same lack of attention to crime and public safety that we feel in the park. At least we know our County Supervisors Rich Desmond and Phil Serna will be attentive and responsive to our concerns. Sacramento city council? Well, let’s just say that we feel your pain, Land Park Neighborhood.

These were the cries of our Land Park Neighbors at a recent protest, who, like us, are beyond fed up with the city of Sacramento:
“Save Our City, and care about your neighbor”
“Stop smash and grab thieves”
“Crime Crushes Communities”
“City public safety grade F+”
“Fund narcotics unit”
“Stop telling me to be patient!!! Our leaders have failed us”
“Support Police”
“Sac City Govt. listen to us!”
“No crime/Crime not allowed/Stop crime” (crime in circle with line thru it)
“Better Sacramento Now!!!”
“We are tired of seeing people passed out on the street with a needle in their arm, we see it every day.”
“We don’t think the city is doing enough about crime and public safety”
“Businesses are leaving! Now we have vacant buildings instead of thriving shops”
“Shops and Kids, not Pimps and Drugs”
“Walkable Neighborhoods Now!”
Land Park Neighbors will be taking their concerns to Sacramento city council and even state legislators. We’ll keep everyone posted.
