Today on “Morning Answer with Ed Crane Podcast” AM 1380 radio- segment discussing the issue of the mayor’s shelter location putting children in danger.
Ron Jellison:
“The issue we have with the mayor is, that this [receiving home] campus is directly adjacent to this homeless shelter and there’s just a thin fence in between; and basically, they’re open. The clients at this homeless shelter are free to move in and out, and the Childrens Receiving Home, they basically have an open campus also. Getting these two populations out there to commingle, we think, is a really bad idea.”
Ed Crane:
“I think everybody would agree, except the mayor...”
Ron:
“Yeah, exactly. And on the other side of it, in the park, is a public children’s playground- so if you could find a spot on the map to place a homeless program- that probably wouldn’t be it…”
