Anaheim Fix Project
Mar 18, 2015
Thanks so much to everyone who has helped our petition reach over 6,000 signatures! There are some truly amazing people out there. UPDATE: Anaheim city officials are claiming that the city supports humane feral cat policies, but their actions are in total contradiction to this claim. They claim they support spay/neuter and TNR, but they have put virtually no money towards education or implementation and do not even have their own animal shelter. They are contracted with a shelter (OC Animal Care) who also covers 17 other Orange County cities and is underfunded and stretched thin. Anaheim has a terrible feral cat issue because they do virtually nothing to educate the residents about spay / neuter or provide services. Instead of solving the feral cat issue in a productive proactive humane manner, the city is now ordering residents to starve their community cats. Anaheim has also stated in their recent responses, that when a colony reaches over 30 cats, they will trap and kill the cats. Disneyland has 200+ beloved cats in their healthy happy colonies. They may all be at risk if the overzealous city officials have their way. Ironically, Anaheim’s new slogan identifies themselves as ‘The City of Kindness’. Hopefully as we can gain more signatures, it will bring more notice to this issue. Safe, responsible feeders should be allowed to help these cats in peace! - If you would like to get involved with the campaign to change this cruel city code please send a message to us on the facebook page “Anaheim Fix Project’ https://www.facebook.com/AnaheimFullertonTNR - If you would like to make a donation to help keep Anaheim’s stray cats fed, please go to: https://npo.justgive.org/AnaheimFixProject
