On 15th March 2001 ...Tender for Waste Management DECENT TRUSTHWORTY EXPERTS proposed to Government at teh time that incinerators are built at Mxlokk where today is the BWSC built in 2010... there for 2 reasons .....

1. To connect the power from the two proposed incinerators to the existing power grid...was pre interconnectors... and
2. Since there was a report some 10 years earlier commissioned to position the new 1992 Power station. The best place for a chimney stack was Mxlokk since 70% of winds in Malta are N and NW and blow offshore rather than onto central Malta ....
