On September 22, 2026, the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) officially opened a formal investigation into NIPSCO and its response to the August 11 storms.
We’ve provided a link to Cause No. 46453 so you can view the filings and follow the investigation as it develops.
Don’t Muzzle the Ox will be following this investigation closely and continuing to advocate for affected customers, including bringing attention to the issue of food loss resulting from extended power outages.
There will also be a Prehearing Conference and Preliminary Hearing on Monday, September 28, at 11:30 a.m. Those interested in following the proceedings can watch online, and we’ve provided a link to the livestream here.
