Developments and support from Tony Abbott and Scott Morrison

I received a letter from the Treasurer Scott Morrison before Christmas, outlining the steps the government is already taking in banking reform. He offered advice from his financial adviser and an introduction to relevant parties at the Australian Banking Association, the peak industry body for the banking sector. He suggests that my (and our) experiences would be considered by the ABA in their work to improve consumer confidence in the banking system. I'll be discussing this action with the Treasurer's adviser on Thursday.
This morning I met with the hon. Tony Abbott MP at his electorate office in Manly, Sydney. I was quite nervous but he quickly put me at ease with his compassion and his considered approach. We discussed the issue in detail and the options for next steps. He agreed to provide a letter of support to accompany any next actions I take with the ABA or ASIC, which I was surprised at and very grateful for.
Now we're at over 22,500 signatures, I must admit I feel a fair bit of responsibility. But I'm determined to continue investigating what avenues are open to us to create change in this area!
