Dear friends,

A lot has happened since the last time I wrote to you. Many countries are now talking about increasing, rather than decreasing their military budgets. Should we give up our fight for a safer world through a redirection of world military spending towards climate, health and prosperity? I don't think so.

We have now created an association under Swiss law, The Global Peace Dividend Initiative. This will help us collect donations and hire staff to scale this work up. The goal remains an international agreement—a treaty. Please get in touch if you feel qualified to help in a concrete way. Chip in at www.peace-dividend.org if you can. 

Note that I have rewritten the text of our petition. I don't think you will find the modifications substantial, but please know that should you choose to opt out, you can easily do via change.org. 

Finally—keep talking about our initiative with your friends, relatives, colleagues. If each of us recruits two new signatories, we'll reach millions quickly.
