650% more petition supporters than people who bought tickets
We didn't expect the opening night show to be pulled after Amanda Knox doubled down in her media response. Nor did we have any faith in the Edinburgh Fringe CEO and organisers who shirked all responsibility and passed the buck to the Gilded Balloon, who in return shirked all responsibility and passed the buck to the 'artist'. Let's be real, the 'artist' was never going to recognise how grossly inappropriate and offensive this is.
The Edinburgh Festival should hang its head in shame giving a platform to someone convicted of perverting the course of justice in this case, who served three years in jail for that crime and is now monetising Meredith's tragedy.
What everyone should celebrate is that within a few short days we crossed the 10,000 signature mark with hundreds of incredible comments, words of support and shared experiences. This is 650% more people supporting the petition in a 72hr window than there are ticket-holders for Cartwheel which have been on sale for months.
