It's been a week now of glorious silence and uninterrupted sleep! I'm sure you've noticed it too : ) It was quite a battle...but the alarms are now off!

This is a story of neighbors coming together to fight for a good cause, local news media support, a lot of perseverance and it even includes an unexpected twist of events at the end!

We first got a story on the Eastsider. Then NBCLA did a segment that triggered a response from Sparkletts: they promised to remove their alarms. We were elated but then... nothing changed?! So the excellent NBC reporter Lolita Lopez wouldn't let it go, kept her support and wanted to do a follow up.

Meanwhile, Jeff (our neighbor & local hero!) emailed the regional manager of Primo Brands, which owns Sparkletts, and said he would go on camera for NBCLA’s follow up in 2 days if they didn’t fix it. The manager truly understood the issue and wanted to help us, he immediately got the alarms turned off - he admitted they’d had issues with them before.

But the very next night, we all heard that message again: YOU ARE TRESPASSING.

So at the crack of dawn, Jeff together with the regional manager and a few Sparkletts employees, stood post at different areas of the plant trying to figure out which alarm was still on. This is when the twist happens .... It turned out that the dispensary across the street called Off The Charts on York Blvd, also had one of those alarms!!

Yes, we have been blasted by 2 different businesses all along.

So Jeff went over and gave the manager there a talking to. Boots on the ground! And many of us have followed to drive the point home since then. The alarm was officially turned off the following day, and hopefully it will stay that way!

Isn't it ironic that a weed store was making the whole place feel like a police state?! Lol

Anyway, well done everyone. Don’t fuck with Eagle Rock South. And if you see Jeff, buy him a beer!
