On January 9th, 2025, the Committee emailed several letters in response to personal testimonies submitted to them. For the sake of transparency, two of these letters have been shared publicly on social media.
These letters bring with them great disappoint from those of us who've held out hope that the Committee would see reason and engage a third-party investigator for the sake of clarity, transparency, justice, and the protection of future victims from harm. But as much as these letters are NOT the response we'd hoped for, they do represent a critical next step in the process of public accountability. The Committee has made their position clear: they will jump through hoops to discount and disregard the credible accounts of victims; and they will engage in bullying and intimidation to create silence and fear.
We know silence and fear all too well. We've lived with it for years. There will be no more silence.
