We've reached 150 signatures and I am so happy and proud of everyone who has stepped up so far. We're putting together a group to expand activism and shut these tax hikes down. We are hoping for support whenever this comes to fruition.

I've been commenting/chatting with others and apparently not even ward councilors were aware of these hikes. From what I understand a "correction" will be made next week so here's hoping they correct the number back down to 1.5% as laid out in the 2022 LTFP that is supposed to apply to this year. 

I fully expect economically insulated people and people employed by the City to be pro for these tax hikes. They will ridicule and try to make taxpayers feel stupid for commenting and petitioning to save our investments. My advice is to keep pushing for a tax hike moratorium and ignore the voices! We already have seen huge tax arrears in areas that have pushed hikes faster than the CKL is attempting to do and it is devastating communities. 500 million dollars in the GTA alone at a 1.5% interest per month is likely going to wipe out huge numbers of investments and that is simply unacceptable here.
